  • Interacts directly with prospective residents and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy by securing leases following company set underwriting guidelines

  • Ensures all Leasing goals are met weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually

  • Reviews all information on an application including third party screening

Real Estate Assistant Controller

General Accountabilities

  • Perform accounting and reporting on direct real estate investments including set up and accounting for complex multi-tier investment entities.
  • Handle all SEC reporting for multiple REIT entities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual portfolio level consolidated financial statements and other client reporting.
  • Responsible for oversight of property level accounting and coordination of client equity contributions and distributions.
  • Perform intensive review of monthly property level reports.
  • Coordinate and insure completion of annual audits by required deadlines.
  • Assist in design and implementation of internal audit practices and procedures.
  • Financial Analysis / Special Projects
  • Calculate and analyze performance returns, advisor incentive fees, and acquisition / disposition fees on real estate investments.
  • Assist other departments with the acquisition and disposition of real estate properties.
  • Analyze cash flow projections and budget variances.

 

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • CPA an added bonus
  • Remarkable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Analysis experience desired
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
